Final Project: “The Old Maid”

For our final project we are going to create 26 characters for the game called “Old Maid”. First we made a list of specific events, people, objects, activities that are part of our creativity. The “Old Maid” is the 1 thing that hinders our creativity. My old maid is called “Ms. O’Fear” because what hinders my creativity is fear. After making the list we started making each thing into a character. They are all inspired by my pseudonym. Using different colors and sizes I created my 26 characters. For the back of the cards we had to create a pattern with our personal symbolism. In my cards I put a white paper with some texture, I decided to make it white because I am a really simple person and my style is simple. Since all the characters are very colorful the back of the card is simple with a texture.

It was a fun project and the method I used to make the cards was a little bit hard but I think it came out really good!

Project 7: “The Brad”

ANTONY AND CLEOPATRA

In project 7 our pseudonym was hired by the Royal Shakespeare Company to illustrate the program cover for one of the productions the one that I decided to do was “Antony and Cleopatra.” The play is all about the story of them in Egypt, that is why my pseudonym used only their faces because it is all about them. Using my pseudonym eye signature and the colors I captured the spirit of the play.

In-class assignment: “Aesthetics”

flower Cupcake Paris Snake

In this in-class assignment we had to draw four different things that for us are beautiful or ugly and change them to be the opposite. My first image was a flower and made it ugly. The second image was a cupcake because they are delicious and pretty and I made it ugly and bad. The third image was Paris and since Paris is a beautiful city I made it ugly by destroying the Eiffel Tower. My last image is a snake, personally I do not like snakes so I made it a pretty snake.

Storyboarding

Two out of four Two out of four

Words: Sasquatch, Movie theater and Rabbit’s Foot.

TWO OUT OF FOUR

Sas Afras decided to go to the movies one day to see the new movie called “Planet of the Humans.” Sas reached his hairy pocket and ruffles thru his change and his rabbit’s foot. He walked in and looked for the right seat for him. While watching the movie another sasquatch started talking really loudly and Sas told him to shut up. They started yelling at each other and they both stood up and scream to each other. Sas started hitting the James (the other sasquatch) with his rabbit’s foot and beats him to the ground.  Sas realized that James had the same rabbit’s foot. He helped James to stand up and James told him “if that is true..there should be two more, we must find them.” Sas and James decided to go and look for the other two sasquatches.

Project 4:”CYRK Poster”

CYRK Poster

Under my new Pseudonym (Mathilda) I created this CYRK poster using the new personality. We had to choose one emotion to design the poster. The emotion that I used on my poster was “joy” using Mathilda’s style I created a colorful poster with 4 characters  and all of them using different shapes and colors. Using different colors and combining them makes the poster a totally Mathilda style.

Pseudonym

Mathilda

In this in-class assignment we created a pseudonym. This character is very different from me in the way of my personality. Mathilda is the opposite of my style and personality. She doesn’t care about lines, colors or sizes. She combines everything in one piece. There are no rules for her in the design world.

Juxtaposition in class assignment

Library/Disco Cactus/Balloon and Turtle/Cheetah

In this class assignment we combined two opposite things into one. My first was the library/disco because in the library is quiet and at the disco is really loud. My second was the cactus/balloon because the ballon is soft and the cactus is sharp. my last one was the turtle/cheetah and I decided to use this one because the turtles are slow and the cheetah are really fast. I think my 3 images work as juxtaposition.
